  • We want Gudhjem and Melsted to preserve their distinctive historical and cultural character while, within this framework, developing solutions and proposals for the challenges we face now and in the future.<\/li>
  • Living conditions for residents of Gudhjem and Melsted should be attractive.<\/li>
  • Visitors should experience an area that places a high value on the overall environment \u2013 for the benefit of everyone who moves through it.<\/li><\/ul>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

    Mission<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
    \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t
    • To have a vibrant town all year round.<\/li>
    • To give priority to pedestrians in Gudhjem through minimal traffic.<\/li>
    • To protect and preserve cultural and historical values, including the picturesque houses, street layouts and archipelago harbours.<\/li>
    • To communicate the history and distinctive character of the town.<\/li>
    • To support initiatives that underpin the vision.<\/li>
    • To present ideas and proposals and discuss them with members of the association and the public.<\/li>
    • To put forward proposals to the relevant authorities and organisations.<\/li>
    • To safeguard the interests of the area in relation to administrations and politicians.<\/li>
    • To cooperate with other associations in the town and with town associations elsewhere on Bornholm where relevant.<\/li><\/ul>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

      • \u2022 To work for the preservation of buildings and the urban environment in Gudhjem-Melsted and of the area\u2019s natural environment,<\/li>
      • to act as a citizens\u2019 association for Gudhjem-Melsted, and<\/li>
      • to work for the benefit of the town.<\/li><\/ul>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
